  Well honestly I couldn't tell you how the food was as we never got ours, after waiting for over 1hr we left! Not only was the wait long but other tables were getting their orders before ours.. The owner assured us we'd get our food as there were 3 cooks back there.. Sad to see this place go south as it seems it is, we loved eating there and supporting a local establishment..

  Whatever you do, don't ask to charge your cell phone! Having heard wonderful things about this place, I decided to stop in and try it. My phone was dying, so I asked whether there was a table with a nearby electrical outlet so I could let my phone charge while I eat. Had the owner simply said no, that would have been the end of the conversation and I would have likely enjoyed a good meal. Instead, she said "I do not provide electricity for customers to charge their phones." And then walked away. I was dumbstruck and almost left right then, but she did not sound hostile and I thought that I may have misunderstood what she meant. I sat down, received a menu, and began to look at it. The owner then came back and said "I'm sorry, but if I allow you to plug in your device everyone will start doing it. People will be hauling laptops in here and..." (As someone who earned half of her bachelor's degree sitting in (and spending her money in) local cafes, I fail to see how even this is a problem, but there is a big difference between a phone and a PC.) This is the point I gently said that we have a terminal difference of opinion and that I would like to leave. I, disappointedly said that I probably won't come back, and her parting words to me were, "I hope you don't." Keep in mind, during this exchange both the owner and I kept our tone professional and respectful, we did not have a fight, but she still seemed very rude and cold. This is still (probably) a good place to eat, but I certainly didn't feel welcomed there.

  Great home cooked food in a comfortable atmosphere with excellent wait staff. Unlike many country diners, there's plenty of room for busy hours. But even if you ever had to wait a minute the porch welcomes you with all sizes of rocking chairs. Bring the kids. I have expert testimony that the grilled cheese can't be beat!
